Sony does not have an official list of Bluetooth devices that are supported. The PS4 should, however, operate with the majority of wireless headphones and headsets. Here’s how you use Bluetooth to attach wireless headphones to a PS4.

  • Set the Bluetooth headset to pair mode after turning it on. Check the handbook that came with it if you’re not sure how to do it.
  • At the top of the PS4 home menu, go to Settings.
  • Select Devices.
  • Bluetooth Devices should be selected.
  • To pair your PS4 with a compatible headset, select it from the list.
  • If the headset or console does not appear, try resetting it.

You might be able to connect using a shortcut if the following procedures don’t work. You’ll need an audio cable with a built-in microphone, which most Bluetooth headsets come with. Take the following steps:

Connect the audio cable to the headset and the PlayStation 4 controller, then turn on the headset.

  • At the top of the PS4 home menu, go to Settings.
  • Select Devices.
  • Bluetooth Devices should be selected.
  • To activate your headset, choose it from the list.
  • Select Audio Devices from the Devices menu after you’ve activated the headset.
  • Choose an output device.
  • Select the Controller-Connected Headset.
  • To control the volume, select Volume Control (Headphones).
  • Choose All Audio under Output to Headphones.

Connect Your Headset to Your PS4 using a USB Adapter

If you don’t have an audio cord and can’t use the PS4’s built-in Bluetooth features, a USB Bluetooth adapter is another choice. This is how:

  • Connect the Bluetooth adapter to a PlayStation 4 USB port.
  • At the top of the PS4 home menu, go to Settings.
  • Select Devices.
  • Choose your audio devices.
  • Choose an output device.
  • Choose USB Headset.

Note: To control the volume, select Volume Control (Headphones).

  • Choose All Audio under Output to Headphones.

Note: Can’t seem to connect? Your Bluetooth headphones can be immediately connected to your television. If it doesn’t work, you’ll need to invest in a new headset.
