iMuto 20,000mAh Power Bank review

You should be able to handle all of your portable charging needs with the iMuto 20000mAh Portable Charger. The device has some handy features, notably an LED screen that displays a percentage of the battery’s remaining capacity. Furthermore, we challenge you to find a power bank offering 20000mAh at this price point. We highly recommend it.

iMuto 20,000mAh Power Bank: Capacity & Charging speed

The iMuto Taurus X4 20000mAh Portable Charger, as its full name implies, is not short on power. Our table below shows how many times you can charge your devices with a 20000mAh battery.

A notable feature of this power bank is its LCD screen, which shows the exact remaining power. Power banks are commonly equipped with four LED lights that indicate the level of charge. However, we find that this can be misleading. The fact that iMuto lets you know how much power is left is truly a pet peeve of ours. Well done, iMuto!

An input of Micro USB 5V/2.1A is essential for a charger of this capacity. In our testing, the battery recharged fully in about 10 hours (no problems if left overnight). If you wish to maximize its charging speed, you will need to use a wall charger that is compatible with it.

At its price point, the iMuto comes with two charging ports rated at 2.1A & 1A. Despite the fact that there are certainly faster chargers on the market, we were very satisfied with the recharge speed of the iMuto 20000mAh Portable Charger. As with many power banks, the iMuto uses smart power technology – essentially, the USB ports detect your device and intelligently deliver the fastest, safest charge.

iMuto states that this power bank will be able to charge the new MacBook Pro if you use a USB A to Type-C cable. We can’t confirm this, but it would certainly be an interesting selling point for MacBook Pro users.

iMuto 20,000mAh Power Bank: Look and feel

iMuto 20,000mAh Power Bank review

The iMuto 20000mAh Portable Charger does not excel in the looks department. There is nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t seem to be all that exciting. I think it is more about function than form. Nevertheless, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder – so use your own judgment.

There is a two-tone plastic body of shiny black plastic, with a band of bronze plastic around the outer edges of the device. You will find two USB output ports along the unit’s top edge, as well as a small LED flashlight that provides a reasonable amount of light. A LED power indicator is located on the front, along with the iMuto logo etched on the plastic. The LED screen has a micro-USB input port and power button on either side of the leading edge.

A USB charging cable, operating instructions, and a carrying case are included with the unit.

iMuto 20,000mAh Power Bank: Durability & Construction

A well-designed portable charger such as the iMuto 20000mAh feels very sturdy. The body doesn’t flex, and the power button feels springy. The edges are heavily rounded, making it easy to pick up. It is made of plastic, which is not always the best news when it comes to durability, but it also helps keep the weight down. The iMuto 20000mAh Portable Charger has also received pretty good reviews regarding its reliability. In general, it feels solid and well made.

Portability

When it comes to a 20000mAh power bank, portability is relative. With a weight of 1 pound and dimensions of 5.4 x 1.2 x 3.1 inches, the iMuto 20000mAh Portable Charger measures 1 pound. Certainly not a lightweight device. According to iMuto, this power bank is smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus. Although the iMuto appears thick when viewed from the front, it is actually quite thin. Additionally, it weighs more than the iPhone!

Despite not being the type of device you can slip into your back pocket, it is certainly possible to carry it in a bag. It is shorter and squatter than other power banks in this power category, which can make it easier to fit into some bags. The majority of competitors have longer, thinner profiles. As far as weight is concerned, the iMuto 20000mAh Portable Charger is right in the middle. Nevertheless, it is cheaper than all of them.

Pros Cons
Super powerful Quite bulky/heavy
Ridiculously good value for money Not the sexiest looking power bank
The digital screen shows the exact percentage of power left

Conclusion

The iMuto 20000mAh Portable Charger sits bravely within its 20.000mAh category. Despite its lackluster looks, it’s a leader in the price category.
